The Detroit Metropolitan Area Hosted the
Miss Italia nel Mondo Pageant

The Italian Consular District of Detroit selected the 5 candidates who will participate in a competition in New York City on April 27, 2008 where Miss Italy USA will be selected. Miss Italy USA will then participate in the 18th annual competition of Miss Italia nel Mondo in Jesolo (Venice), Italy in June 2008.

This First Edition of Miss Italy in the World in the Italian Consular District of Detroit covered the States of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee, and was organized in collaboration with the COMITES (Committee representing the Italian Citizens Abroad) and under the auspices of the Consulate of Italy in Detroit.

Actress, singer and songwriter, Simona started her career singing in clubs and city theatres, continuing the music tradition of her family, where there are many classical and jazz musicians. Her artistic sensibility was influenced by the Italian singer Lucia Mannucci of Quartetto Cetra, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. From the local TV to RAI TV,  Simona performed for seven years in one of the most popular Italian program: “Ci vediamo in TV” directed by Paolo Limiti.

In 2002 she worked with Mike Bongiorno in the Tv show “ Bravo Bravissimo Festival” on Italia 1 Channel. In 2003 she performed at the Cafè de Paris of Montecarlo in a show series,  “ L’Art the Vivre”. In 2004  she played the role of Assunta in the fiction “Don Gnocchi” directed by Cinzia Torrini. Then Simona performed in the national tour of the Pooh’s  musical “Pinocchio” directed by Saverio Marconi. Simona played the role of Grace Farrel in the musical “Annie” directed by Federico Bellone  and the role of Elsa Shroeder in “The Sound of Music”.In 2005 Simona came to NYC to start her music project for kids : “LA FATA ITALIANA- THE ITALIAN FAIRY™”. From 2005 to the present, she  performs at the Carnegie Hall at the “IBLA CARNEGIE AWARDS”.  New Yorkers name Simona as “The Italian Fairy - La Fata Italiana “ because she captures adults and children at the same time. Simona performs in Europe and in the United States.
